How To Use Email Marketing To Drive Sales For Your HVAC Service Business
Written by Matthew King
one of the most undermined strategies in local business today is email marketing.   your hvac business is no different, and you should be using email to target, retarget, and build relationships with your customers and clients until they come back to you again and again.   It's like a magic trick, and it doesn't cost you anything more to follow up with your clients once you have their email address.   Use this tactic to 3x or 4x your business, practically guaranteed.
Ughhh - I know, I know....

Who wants to do email marketing, anyway, right?

Truth is - everyone should.   If they care about making money in their business.

Granted it goes by the side, and sometimes we all "create" work to be done so we don't have to write an email that goes out to our entire list.

Am I right?

We've all done it - so it's okay...

But in reality - if you aren't sending an email to your buyers and your prospects at least once every couple weeks.    (specifically for the HVAC industry), then you could be hurting yourself.

A lot.

And leaving lots of money on the table.
What Most HVAC Companies Do
When most HVAC business owners get a client, they do what they need to do for them, and never contact them again.

Ever.

That's the hard way to keep a business going.

Now what if...   and I'm just saying WHAT IF...

You emailed them every now and again?

What if you played the fatherly figure who stayed in touch with your customers and you treated them like they were your kids?

Just check in every now and then and ask how things are going?

Is your A/C still working good?

Don't forget to change out your air filters...    They'll be getting dirty!

or...

Tell them about your other happy customers...    Get a video testimonial from them stating how happy they are, and use that to prove to others how satisfied you can make them as well.

What Is The Purpose Of An Email?
For the most part - just to stay in touch.

You want to be the first one on their minds when something goes wrong.

And you want them to be comfortable with you.

But that also means you need to provide the with value throughout the year.

And throughout the month.

That's why you remind them of their air filters.    Think about it - wouldn't you be okay if someone sent you a quick reminder every 90 days to change your air filter?

I would be...

But it's  one thing to write and send emails - so what happens after you hit the send button?
What Happens After You Hit The Send Button?
Besides the obvious (they get your email)...

You tell them what to do - and they move from their EMAIL environment to...

Your HVAC WEBSITE Environment.

You offer them coupons, or an appointment, or a special deal...

And you send them to an offer page.

The offer page can be a single page or it can be a series of pages (depending on your offer).

This is referred to as "bouncing" them from one environment to the next, which is a relationship building tactic.

But when most people just stop sending emails after the first 2 or 3 - you will continue until you've send 25 to 30 emails a year.

Yes, you heard that right.    Don't stop communicating.    If your best friend stopped calling you once every few days, you'd stop being their friend.

Don't let that happen to a good relationship with your customer.   Granted they aren't your best friend, but you better treat them like they are!
